Dié naweek was daar 'n noodkreet vanuit 'n groot Facebook vriendekring: EK GEE OP. EK KAN NIE MEER NIE. Dit het my die hele naweek bygebly: 'n mens wat roep soos wat ons almal soms roep: "Dit is te erg, dit is te seer, dit hou te lank aan."
Liewe mens wat so voel, die hemel en die aarde is vanoggend vol van 'n ander stem:

En dit is die HERE wat voor jou uit trek; Hy sal met jou wees; Hy sal jou nie begewe of verlaat nie; jy mag nie bevrees of verskrik wees nie. —Deut 31:8. ANV.

Neem elkeen wat voel asof dit die einde is, in u troue sorg. En wys asseblief vir hom/haar/my wat ons nou moet sien.

This weekend a cry of despair came from someone belonging to a Facebook circle of friends: I GIVE UP. I CAN'T GO ON!
This cry haunted me the whole weekend. Don't we all cry like that sometimes? "It is just too much. It is too painful. I has been going on for too long... "
Dear fellow traveller, heaven and earth resounds with another Voice this morning:

Lord, when we can't go on, we can't.
But You can help us when we reach the place of can't-move-on.
Let every person who feels as if this is the end know today: I can't, but You can. And you will.
Take every person who feels that this is the end in your faithful and tender care. And show him/her/me what we should see right now.

Absinthe ( i/'æbs?nθ/ or /'æbsænθ/; French: [aps?~t]) is historically described as a distilled, highly alcoholic (45–74% ABV / 90-148 proof) beverage.[1][2][3][4] It is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from botanicals, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium (a.k.a. "grand wormwood"), together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herbs. Absinthe traditionally has a natural green colour but may also be colourless. It is commonly referred to in historical literature as "la fée verte" (the green fairy). Although it is sometimes mistakenly referred to as a liqueur, absinthe is not traditionally bottled with added sugar, and is therefore classified as a spirit.[5] Absinthe is traditionally bottled at a high level of alcohol by volume, but is normally diluted with water prior to being consumed.
Absinthe originated in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland in the late 18th century. It arose to great popularity as an alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Owing in part to its association with bohemian culture, the consumption of absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists. Ernest Hemingway, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Amedeo Modigliani, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Aleister Crowley, Erik Satie and Alfred Jarry were all known absinthe drinkers.

Absinthe has often been portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug.[7] The chemical compound thujone, although present in the spirit in only trace amounts, was blamed for its alleged harmful effects. By 1915, absinthe had been banned in the United States and in much of Europe, including France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Although absinthe was vilified, it has not been demonstrated to be any more dangerous than ordinary spirits. Any psychoactive properties attributed to absinthe, apart from that of the alcohol, have been much exaggerated.[7] A revival of absinthe began in the 1990s, following the adoption of modern European Union food and beverage laws that removed longstanding barriers to its production and sale. By the early 21st century, nearly 200 brands of absinthe were being produced in a dozen countries, most notably in France, Switzerland, USA, Spain, and the Czech Republic.

1. Ons het ? streep getrek waaroor ons dit nie waag nie. Hier is die streep: Lukas 7:23: Geseënd is die man wat aan My nie begin twyfel nie. (Jesus Christus.)
2. Ons praat met mekaar. (Dit beteken: praat met iemand.)
3. Ons doen elke dag Bybelstudie. Ons luister na egte worship-musiek en worship met hart en gees saam. (Hierdie ervaring deel ons vyf dae van die week met jou in BYBELSTUDIE, linkerkieslys.) Bybelstudie, worship en gebed is ons kos, krag, ons vashou aan God, ons hoop.
4. As ons snags deur die verskriklike gedagtes van die nag gefolter word, sê ons hard en duidelik vir onsself: Hierdie is skrikgedagtes van die nag. Om in uitputting teen skrikgedagtes te probeer baklei, is sinloos. Stel die hantering van dié spul goed uit tot more-oggend, wat oor ? paar uur gaan aanbreek. En slaap.
5. Ons hou van die volgende aanhalings. Ons vind geen suikerlagie daarin nie, net waarheid en realisme:

Gehoorsaamheid aan God word nie in die Kerk of in 'n Christenskool, in tuisonderrig of selfs in die studeerkamer van 'n teoloog gevind nie. Daar is geen houer daarbuite waaruit ons gehoorsaamheid aan God kan skep nie. Gehoorsaamheid aan God is 'n gesindheid en 'n houding, 'n absolute gefokusdheid op Christus, soos wat Hy absoluut gefokus op die Vader was. Dit is onderwerping aan wat Hy sê terwyl ons so absoluut op Hom gefokus is. Gehoorsaamheid aan God is 'n bietjie soos Wiskunde. Ons wil Wiskunde leer doen, daarom fokus ons op wat gese word en doen ons soos wat die onderwyser sê. Maar hier eindig die ooreenkoms. Gehoorsaamheid is ook dankbaarheidsliefde. Dit is blydskap in die Here. Dit is vryheid. — MM

EK MOET WEET WAT GOD SE WIL IS. HOE?
Jesus het gebid: “Laat U wil geskied.” En Hy was veilig, ook aan die Kruis. Ons is deur sy gehoorsaamheid aan God se wil vir hierdie lewe en hierna beveilig.
Hier is 12 dinge wat elkeen van ons aangaande God se wil moet weet:
1. Die gevaarlikste plek op aarde vir enige mens is buite God se wil.
2. God se wil is dat sondaars, elke sondaar, ook ek en jy, gered sal word. Hiervoor het die Goddelike raadsplan van die Kruis en die gawe van die Heilige Gees in werking getree.
3. Die volgende is onbetroubare metodes om God se wil te ontdek: munte gooi, drome, skaapvelletjies, willekeurig op Bybelteksverse druk (Bybel-roulette), emosies.
4. Jy sal God se wil stuk vir stuk sien ontvou as jy in verbondenheid met Christus (in union with Christ) leef. Sy gedagtes sal jou gedagtes word, sy wil jou wil.
5. God se Woord is die lamp vir ons voet en die lig vir ons pad. (Ps 119.) As wat jy beoog buite Skrifbeginsels val, is dit nie God se wil nie.
6. Die Bybel sê ons moenie wys in ons eie oë wees nie. As ons vasbrand in ons huwelik, finansies, beroepskeuse en emosionele probleme, moet ons professionele, betroubare kundiges raadpleeg.
7. Ondersoek jou hartsbegeertes. Hoe nodig is hulle? God sal vir jou gee wat jy werklik nodig het.
8. Wees absoluut eerlik, nugter en denkend. Maak ? lys van die voor-en nadele van wat jy oorweeg. God het vir jou jou verstand gegee om te gebruik.
9. Hou jou oë oop vir oop deure. (2 Kor 2:12.) Moet geen deur wat God toemaak, probeer oopskop nie.
10. Vas van iets en bid. Bid vir leiding en wysheid, en dit sal vir jou gegee word. Klop by die Here aan oor die regte stappe, en Hy sal die stappe vir jou laat duidelik word.
11. Wag geduldig op die leiding van die Gees soos mense wat weet dat hulle vrae beantwoord sal word. Om aan neerslagtigheid toe te gee terwyl jy wag, is mos nie geloof nie! Geseënd is die mens wat aan My nie begin twyfel nie! (Luk 7:23.)
12. Vra vir jouself: is ek nou in God se wil terwyl ek sy wil vir die volgende stap soek? Dit is ? vraag wat met die diepte van jou verhouding met God te doen het. As jou huidige verhouding met God so-so is, kry dit eers reg.

Vanoggend gaan ons harte uit na die mense van Boston, VSA, waar die Boston marathon in die tragedie van twee bomontploffings by die eindstreep geëindig het. Vanoggend bid ons tot die lewende God:

Our hearts are going out to the people of Boston, USA, where the Boston marathon came to a tragic end when two bombs exploded at the finishing line. This morning we have but one prayer for all involved:

Lord, as South Africans we know and live with death and pain and loss.
From the depths of our hearts we pray for the people of Boston, for every athlete who never expected this.
We pray for all who were hurt, for the loved ones of all who lost their lives.
We pray against the enemy of those whom You have made and created for purpose.
We pray for every Christian family who, at this time, is facing the terror and pain of death.
Let them find comfort in your eternal Word:

Death swallowed by triumphant Life!
Who got the last word, oh, Death?
Oh, Death, who’s afraid of you now? — 1 Cor. 15: 55, The Message.
